Help Preserve Our History
If you would like to learn more about the history of our area and get involved in preserving it, CHS could use your help caring for the many artifacts and reference materials donated to the Society's Resource Center.
In addition to helping those who visit the Resource Center during the open hours, answering the phone, and following up on the questions that callers ask, volunteers have an opportunity and responsibility for logging in new donations, and preparing materials for use or storage. This, of course, involves a lot of detail work, and includes lots of filing, copying, typing, and data entry -- all necessary for keeping track of our growing collection.
If you have a few hours to spare and
are willing to help with the "office work",
please call the Center at (925) 827-3380 and leave your
name and phone number where you can be reached during the
day. Training for new volunteers is Tuesdays 1:00
to 4:00. Once trained, volunteers may schedule
other days and times to assist at the Center.
Visit the Center at 1601 Sutter Street, Suites E and F, at the corner of Fremont St. (across from Mike's Body Shop)
